Playing For Keeps : Michael Jordan and the World He Made by David Halberstam
Reading the whole book in a random order. I’m just so mesmerized about the inside stories about Jordan’s storied career, his growth, maturity and entirety not just as a basketball player, but also an ambassador and a worldwide phenomenon, from his days in Laney High until his the Last Shot at the Delta Center as a Bull, plus stories from the organizations and basketball programs at Chicago as well as in North Carolina and key people that helped paved the way for Jordan in becoming the greatest to ever play the game of basketball.
And since I can’t get enough of Michael, I still had to buy the 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition of Ultimate Jordan which includes 5 Best Selling MJ Programmes: Come Fly With Me, MJ’s Playground, Air Time, Above and Beyond, and His Airness. (I have VCD’s copies of these programmes, by the way.)
The reason I got this collection is because it had 5 of Jordan’s Greatest Games in their Entirety: The Arrival against Boston in ‘86, Dropping 69 against the Cavs in ‘90, 55 against the Suns in the ‘93 Finals, The Flu Game in ‘97, and the Last Dance in ‘98.
Yes, I am this much of a Jordan fan, and no one can replace him as the greatest of all time in my eyes.
